A serene silence is casted over the cottage. Inside, the warmth of the fireplace surrounds me, casting a golden glow on the room. The air is filled with the sweet aroma of gingerbread men baking in the oven, their spicy scent mingling with the fragrance of freshly brewed hot apple cider simmering on the stovetop. Winter is a time of enchantment and tranquility, a season of quiet contemplation and warmth. To me, it means watching snowflakes fall outside, and feeling grateful for the simple pleasures in life.
Putting up the Christmas tree in the odd hours of the night feels magical. The house is quiet, except for the sound of ornaments clinking against each other as we carefully hang them on the branches. The soft glow of the string lights casts a warm ambiance, making everything feel cozy and intimate. It's as if the tree comes alive under our fingertips, transforming the room into a winter wonderland as the darkness outside contrasts beautifully with the twinkling lights inside. Every moment is savored, whether it's taking a leisurely winter stroll hand-in-hand, baking sweet treats in our cozy cottage, or simply snuggling up together, watching the fire dance.
